The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has been directed to fast-track development work in five crucial sectors of the federal capital, including C-14, C-15, C-16, E-12, and I-12. The decision came during a high-level meeting held at CDA Headquarters, chaired by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.

  • Rapid development ordered in sectors C-14, C-15, C-16, E-12, and I-12

  • Groundbreaking ceremonies for T-Chowk Flyover and Shaheen Chowk Underpass to be held in the first week of September

  • Ten new police stations to be established across Islamabad

  • CDA is instructed to resolve land disputes and property cases on a priority basis

  • Focus on public-private partnerships for five-star hotel projects in Sector F-5

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi emphasized the need to complete ongoing development projects in sectors C-14, C-15, and I-12, where significant progress has already been made. He expressed optimism that with dedicated efforts, full-scale development in these sectors could be completed within a few months.

However, the minister acknowledged that development in E-12 and C-16 will take longer due to unresolved land disputes. To address these challenges, the CDA has been instructed to settle pending land acquisition cases promptly and resolve all property-related matters in Sector C-15 within 15 days.

Sector E-12, launched in 1989, has faced severe delays, with many original allottees still awaiting possession of their plots. The minister urged the CDA to prioritize this long-pending development, ensuring transparency and swift action to restore public confidence.

The meeting also discussed upcoming mega-infrastructure projects:

  • T-Chowk Flyover and Shaheen Chowk Underpass — groundbreaking scheduled for the first week of September

  • Proposal for the Faizabad Interchange with instructions to the engineering team to submit two alternative designs

  • Beautification projects planned for Diplomatic Enclave and Daman-i-Koh to enhance Islamabad’s urban landscape

Attention was drawn to two prime CDA-owned plots in Sector F-5, earmarked for luxury five-star hotels — one near the Pakistan National Council of Arts (PNCA) and another close to the Marriott Hotel. After a previous auction failed to attract investors, the CDA has now been tasked with exploring public-private partnerships to ensure timely development.

With these fast-tracked development plans, Islamabad is set to witness major infrastructure upgrades and urban expansion in the coming months. The CDA aims to enhance the city’s residential sectors, transportation network, and tourism potential, positioning the capital as a modern, well-developed metropolitan hub.
