Pakistan’s Embassy in Brussels Marks Youm-e-Istehsal 2025

Pakistan’s Embassy in Brussels solemnly observed Youm-e-Istehsal today, marking the sixth anniversary of India’s unilateral revocation of Article 370, which stripped Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) of its special constitutional status.

The event was held to express solidarity with the oppressed Kashmiri people and to highlight the continued human rights abuses in the region. Embassy officials, members of the Pakistani and Kashmiri community, and human rights activists gathered to condemn India’s actions and demand justice for Kashmiris.

Addressing the gathering, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Belgium, Luxembourg, and the European Union reiterated Islamabad’s unwavering diplomatic, moral, and political support for the Kashmiri people. He emphasized that August 5, 2019, remains a "black day" in the history of Kashmir, as it led to increased military presence, communication blackouts, and gross human rights violations.

The Ambassador also urged the international community, particularly the European Union, to take notice of the deteriorating human rights situation in IIOJK. A photo exhibition showcasing life under siege in Kashmir was also displayed, aimed at educating visitors about the grim realities faced by Kashmiris under occupation.

A documentary screening and recitation of Kashmiri poetry added emotional depth to the ceremony, resonating strongly with attendees.

Youm-e-Istehsal is observed annually across Pakistan and around the world to renew the call for the right to self-determination of the Kashmiri people under UN Security Council resolutions.
