The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially locked in a three-match T20 International series for the men’s team against Sri Lanka next month — a crucial tune-up ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.

According to reports, all three games will be staged at the Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium (RDICS) in Dambulla, scheduled for January 7, 9 and 11.

Officials say the series is designed to give Pakistan “valuable match practice” under Sri Lankan conditions before the World Cup — a tournament set to run from February 7 to March 8 under a co-hosted format between India and Sri Lanka.

The timing clicks neatly into place: Pakistan recently wrapped up a busy home season, which included a victorious T20I tri-series against Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe and a clean sweep in an ODI series versus Sri Lanka.

As Dawn and Daily Times report, this will also be Pakistan’s first T20I tour of Sri Lanka in nearly a decade, adding extra significance as the team looks to fine-tune combinations, sharpen rhythm and get foreign-conditions exposure before stepping onto the world stage.

With fixtures confirmed and the calendar set, the countdown to a high-stakes pre-World Cup series is officially on — and fans are buzzing already.
