Ramzan Shows Distract Worship: Bushra Ansari

Renowned actress and television personality Bushra Ansari has expressed her concerns over the excessive commercialization of Ramzan transmissions, stating that these shows have diverted people’s attention from worship. She remarked that instead of focusing on prayers and spiritual reflection, many viewers remain engaged in entertainment-based programs, which diminish the true essence of the holy month. During a recent statement, Ansari voiced her disappointment, saying, "Ramzan is a time for ibadat (worship) and self-reflection, but unfortunately, it has turned into a spectacle of game shows, entertainment, and extravagant programs. The true meaning of fasting has been overshadowed, and for many, roza (fast) has become mere faqa (hunger), lacking the spiritual essence it is meant to embody." She emphasized that while media platforms have a responsibility to spread awareness and religious teachings, the focus has shifted toward ratings-driven content.

Many Ramzan transmissions prioritize commercial sponsorships, contests, and celebrity appearances over meaningful religious discussions and acts of worship. Ansari’s remarks have sparked a debate on social media, with many agreeing that the increasing commercialization of Ramzan programming is diluting the sanctity of the month.
