Pakistan Slip to Fifth in ICC ODI Rankings After Defeat to West Indies

Pakistan have dropped to fifth place in the latest ICC Men’s ODI Team Rankings after suffering a five-wicket loss to West Indies in the second ODI at Tarouba. The rain-affected match proved costly for Pakistan, as Sri Lanka moved ahead into fourth place with 4,009 points, leaving Pakistan with 3,465 points.

The defeat also boosted West Indies, who climbed to ninth place in the standings, improving their chances of automatic qualification for the 2027 Cricket World Cup. This unexpected shake-up in the rankings adds more pressure on Pakistan ahead of the series decider.

At the top of the table, India continue to dominate with a commanding 124 rating, followed by New Zealand and Australia, both tied at 109.

With the ODI series now level at 1-1, the upcoming third ODI will be a must-win for Pakistan—not only to clinch the series but also to regain lost ground in the global cricket rankings.
