Former U.S. President Donald Trump has confirmed that Microsoft is in discussions to acquire TikTok, amid rising national security concerns about its Chinese parent company, ByteDance. Although ByteDance has previously tried to sell TikTok's U.S. operations, including talks with Microsoft and Oracle, no deal was reached. Other interested bidders include billionaire Frank McCourt, Kevin O'Leary, and YouTuber MrBeast. Trump hopes for a competitive bidding process to eliminate Chinese involvement in TikTok's U.S. operations. Both Microsoft and TikTok have yet to comment on the matter.
