RAWALPINDI: A Pakistan Air Force (PAF) contingent, including F-16 Block-52 fighter jets along with air and ground crew, has arrived at King Abdulaziz Air Base in Saudi Arabia to take part in the multinational air combat exercise Spears of Victory-2026, Tribune reported.

The deployment was confirmed by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), which said the exercise brings together air forces from several countries, including Saudi Arabia, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Greece, Qatar, Bahrain, and Jordan. The drills aim to improve coordination, teamwork, and combat readiness among participating forces.

According to Dawn, Spears of Victory-2026 focuses on modern air warfare, including large force employment, night flying missions, intelligence and surveillance operations, and electronic warfare. The exercise is designed to prepare pilots and support crews for real-world combat situations in a fast-changing security environment.

The PAF fighter jets completed a non-stop long-range flight from Pakistan to Saudi Arabia, highlighting the air force’s ability to operate far from home bases. ISPR said the deployment reflects PAF’s operational readiness and its capacity to conduct missions in complex and technology-driven battle spaces.

During the exercise, PAF pilots flying F-16 Block-52 aircraft will train alongside pilots from allied nations. These jets are equipped with modern avionics and beyond visual range weapons, allowing pilots to practice advanced air combat tactics against a variety of aircraft. The joint missions will help pilots learn from each other and improve their operational skills.

ISPR noted that Pakistan’s participation is aimed at strengthening defence ties, improving mutual understanding, and enhancing joint operational capability with friendly countries. The exercise also provides an opportunity for PAF to test its tactics, procedures, and professionalism at an international level.

Defence experts say such multinational exercises help Pakistan showcase the quality of its air force while contributing to regional security and stability. By taking part in Spears of Victory-2026, Pakistan continues to position itself as a capable and reliable partner in international military cooperation.

The exercise will continue over the coming weeks, with multiple training missions expected to test the skills and coordination of all participating air forces.
