Punjab to Launch “Magnificent Tourism App” Featuring 170 Tourist Destinations

 Punjab government has announced a major step toward modernizing its tourism sector with the launch of the “Magnificent Punjab Tourism App.” Developed under the guidance of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, the app is designed to international standards and promises travelers easy access to 170 of the province’s most popular destinations with just a single click.

According to officials, the new digital platform will be formally inaugurated on World Tourism Day, reflecting Punjab’s commitment to making tourism more accessible, inclusive, and tech-driven. The project is a joint initiative between the Punjab Tourism Department and the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB).

The app goes beyond simple travel listings. Each destination will include Google coordinates, virtual guidance tools, and multimedia previews to help visitors plan trips more effectively. In an innovative move, the platform also incorporates AR/VR technology, giving users a chance to explore landmarks and cultural attractions virtually before visiting in person.

In addition to destination details, the app integrates hotel and restaurant booking options, making trip planning seamless for both domestic and international travelers. Partnerships with ride-hailing companies mean tourists can also book online taxi services directly from the app, while an emergency contacts section ensures assistance is readily available if needed.

Officials highlight that the app is designed to boost both tourism convenience and economic growth. By bringing together destinations, services, and safety features in one digital hub, it aims to attract a greater number of visitors, encourage longer stays, and provide more opportunities for local businesses in the hospitality and service industries.

The Punjab government believes this initiative will play a pivotal role in positioning the province as a modern, tourist-friendly region, enhancing its global visibility while promoting cultural heritage, natural landscapes, and adventure tourism.
