Shahzeb Khanzada and Saba Qamar Face New Controversies Following ‘Case No. 9’ Release
Shahzeb Khanzada and Saba Qamar face criticism after Case No. 9 release; PTI fans slam Khanzada over Khawar Manika interview, Saba denies false claims.
Journalist Shahzeb Khanzada, who made his debut as a drama writer with Case No. 9, is facing social media criticism alongside actress Saba Qamar soon after the drama’s release. The series, a crime thriller and courtroom drama, explores the aftermath of sexual assault and the struggles women face while seeking justice.
Many PTI supporters on social media accused Shahzeb Khanzada of hypocrisy. They claimed that although he talks about women’s rights in the drama, he previously conducted an interview with Khawar Manika, the ex-husband of Bushra Bibi, without showing the same sensitivity toward women’s dignity at that time.
In response, journalist Mansoor Ali Khan defended Shahzeb Khanzada, saying that although they sometimes disagree, their relationship has always remained respectful. Mansoor added that professional differences should not lead to personal attacks.
“We may not always agree, but our disagreements have always stayed within the limits of respect. Shahzeb is one of the best journalists in Pakistan,” Mansoor said.
He also criticized those targeting Shahzeb for the Khawar Manika interview, saying that people with questionable records themselves should not be lecturing others on ethics.
At the same time, Saba Qamar also faced personal allegations from Naeem Hanif, who claimed that in 2003 or 2004, Saba lived at a man’s house without being married to him. Saba Qamar denied all accusations and announced that she will take legal action against these false claims.
Despite the controversies, Case No. 9 continues to gain attention for its bold subject and performances. Both Shahzeb Khanzada and Saba Qamar have yet to make any detailed public statement regarding the ongoing social media debate.
