Heavy Rain, Thunderstorms Alert Across Sindh Until Oct 2

 Pakistan Meteorological Department has issued a weather alert as a low-pressure system over Gujarat, India moves west-northwest, while moist currents from the northeastern Arabian Sea reach southeastern Sindh. A fresh westerly wave is also expected to affect upper Sindh on October 3.

Under these conditions, heavy rain, strong winds, and thunderstorms are expected from the night of September 29 until October 2 across several districts, including Tharparkar (Mithi, Islamkot, Nagarparkar, Chachro, Dhali, Diplo, Kaloi), Umerkot, Mirpurkhas, Sanghar, Khairpur, Matiari, Tando Allahyar, Tando Muhammad Khan, Hyderabad, Jamshoro, Karachi, Thatta, Badin, and Sujawal.

Isolated moderate to heavy rainfall is also possible in Tharparkar, Umerkot, and Mirpurkhas, which may cause localized disruptions.

Authorities have warned that windstorms and lightning could damage weak structures such as kacha houses, electric poles, billboards, vehicles, and solar panels. Residents, travelers, and tourists are advised to avoid vulnerable areas, limit unnecessary travel, and stay updated with daily weather reports.

Officials emphasized that taking precautionary measures is essential, as these conditions could increase the risk of property damage and accidents.
