Seventh Monsoon Spell to Hit Pakistan This Week
PMD forecasts seventh monsoon spell in Pakistan this week with heavy rain, urban flooding, and landslide risks in multiple provinces.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast the arrival of the seventh monsoon spell this week, bringing widespread rainfall across several regions. According to the PMD, Sindh, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), and Balochistan are expected to receive moderate to heavy showers, which may cause urban flooding in low-lying areas.
The weather system is likely to enter from eastern parts of Sindh and gradually extend to the upper regions of the country. Karachi, Hyderabad, and other coastal cities may experience thundershowers accompanied by gusty winds. In Punjab, cities like Lahore, Faisalabad, and Multan could see heavy downpours, while Islamabad and northern areas may face persistent rains.
The PMD has warned that continuous rainfall could trigger landslides in hilly areas and flash floods in riverine belts. Authorities have been instructed to stay on high alert and ensure emergency measures are in place.
Farmers have been advised to take necessary precautions to protect their crops, as the prolonged spell could lead to waterlogging. Meanwhile, urban residents are urged to avoid unnecessary travel during heavy rain and stay updated with official advisories.
With the monsoon season now in full swing, this spell is expected to provide relief from scorching heat but also poses significant flood risks in vulnerable regions.
