CM Maryam Nawaz Launches 'Skills on Wheel' Project
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has initiated the "Skills on Wheel Project" aimed at equipping 100,000 young individuals in Punjab.

This program aims to provide individuals with sought-after skills, enhance job readiness, and create opportunities for international employment. Through accessible, sector-focused training, the Punjab government seeks to close the divide between education and jobs, enabling youth and underrepresented communities to make meaningful contributions to the economy.
During the initial phase, 5,000 young people will undergo specialized training for call centers in collaboration with IBEX, providing job prospects with possible earnings of up to Rs. 100,000 each month. Moreover, 480 women will receive training in garment making and obtain jobs in leading textile firms, further enhancing women's financial independence. In addition to these initiatives, the Punjab government is enhancing its efforts by launching international IT certifications, hospitality training, and specialized skill development programs for the transgender community, promoting inclusivity and equitable job opportunities for every segment of society.
Women in rural areas will greatly benefit from the "Main Digital" initiative, which seeks to improve digital literacy by equipping them with necessary digital skills and offering complimentary desktop computers. By incorporating technology into skill enhancement, the program guarantees that women in isolated regions can access contemporary job opportunities, allowing them to engage in Pakistan’s expanding digital economy. With a strong emphasis on hands-on training and immediate job placements, the "Skills on Wheel Project" demonstrates the Punjab government's dedication to developing a skilled workforce capable of succeeding in domestic and global markets
