Federal Govt Approves Rs8 Billion for Karachi’s K-IV Water Project by Reallocating Funds The federal government has approved an additional Rs8 billion for Karachi's 'Water Requirement Project' by reallocating resources from two underperforming infrastructure improvement projects in Karachi and Hyderabad, following a formal request from Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah. In a letter dated January 9, 2025, Sindh CM Murad Ali Shah urged Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to address the funding gap for the PSDP project, including the K-IV Water Project, Kalri Baghar Feeder, and Keenjhar Lake improvements for 2024-25. The CM proposed reallocating Rs6 billion from the Karachi Urban Infrastructure Development Package and Rs2 billion from the Hyderabad Urban Infrastructure Development Package. He also requested the remaining funds be provided in the financial year 2025-26 to ensure timely project completion.
