Haris Rauf Determined to Earn Test Spot After Match-Winning Spell
Haris Rauf aims for a Test comeback after taking 4 wickets in Pakistan’s ODI win over Sri Lanka, saying he wants to prove himself in all formats.
Pakistan’s express pacer Haris Rauf has expressed his strong desire to make a comeback in Test cricket, saying he wants to represent Pakistan across all three formats of the game.
Speaking after Pakistan’s six-run win against Sri Lanka in the first ODI, Rauf said his focus is now on proving that he can handle the challenges of red-ball cricket as well. The right-arm fast bowler played a key role in the victory, claiming four wickets that swung the momentum Pakistan’s way.
Despite being one of Pakistan’s most reliable limited-overs bowlers, Rauf has so far featured in only one Test match and 13 First-Class games. Analysts believe his sheer pace and aggression could add variety to Pakistan’s bowling attack, particularly in pace-friendly overseas conditions.
With Pakistan preparing for upcoming red-ball series and the next World Test Championship cycle, Rauf’s renewed focus on the longer format comes at the perfect time.
“Every player dreams of wearing the Test cap. I want to perform and prove that I can contribute in all formats,” Rauf said after the match.
Pakistan will now look to seal the ODI series as they face Sri Lanka again tomorrow, followed by the final on November 15.
