Fuel Prices in Pakistan Expected to Rise from October 1

Petroleum product prices in Pakistan are set to increase once again from October 1, 2025. Petrol, diesel, kerosene, and light diesel oil are all expected to see price adjustments following a surge in international crude oil rates.

According to sources, the upward rally in the global oil market has pushed both ex-refinery and ex-depot prices higher.

  • Petrol’s ex-refinery rate is projected to rise from Rs. 160.93 to Rs. 162.90 per liter, while its retail price at the pump may increase to Rs. 266.58 per liter.

  • High-speed diesel (HSD) is expected to climb from Rs. 272.77 to Rs. 275.25 per liter.

  • Kerosene oil could see the biggest jump, rising from Rs. 179.96 to Rs. 184.61 per liter.

  • Light diesel oil (LDO) is also likely to move up, reaching Rs. 165.18 per liter.

These hikes will directly impact household budgets. Families are already burdened with record-high inflation, rising food costs, and soaring electricity bills. Any further increase in fuel prices will likely push up transport fares and commodity prices, adding pressure on low- and middle-income groups.

Analysts warn that if international crude oil prices continue to rise, Pakistan may face further price hikes in the coming months.

For now, an official notification from the Ministry of Petroleum is still awaited, but projections alone have already caused concern among the public.
