March 24, 2026 – Imran Khan was taken to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences in Islamabad yesterday and given his third anti-VEGF eye injection. The hospital said the former prime minister stayed stable before, during and after the short procedure. Doctors checked his eyesight afterward and called it satisfactory. He was sent back to Adiala Jail the same day with follow-up instructions.

According to The Express Tribune, the injection was done in the operation theatre under a microscope by eye specialists. Imran gave his consent, and everything followed normal hospital rules. This was the third and probably last dose in the current treatment plan for a blood clot problem in the vein of his right eye. The hospital has been handling all three visits so far.

Imran Khan has been dealing with this eye trouble for months. It started while he was locked up in Adiala Jail. His party kept complaining that prison conditions made things worse and that he was not getting proper care in time. Doctors say the issue is central retinal vein occlusion, basically a blockage that can blur or damage vision if left untreated. The injections help reduce swelling and improve blood flow. Earlier medical boards noted his vision had already got better after the first two shots.

PTI leaders are still not fully happy. They want Khan checked by his own trusted doctors and say the government should be more open about his health reports. Some supporters worry the jail environment could slow down his recovery or bring new problems.

For now, the treatment course looks complete, and doctors sound positive about the results. But everyone will be watching the next check-up in a few weeks. If the improvement holds, Khan might not need more injections soon. If not, the whole debate over his medical care could heat up again. In the bigger picture, his health remains a hot political issue as long as he stays behind bars.
