Islamabad Traffic Police Launches Mobile Vans for Easy Learner Driving Permits
ITP introduces mobile facilitation vans at key Islamabad checkpoints, allowing citizens to obtain learner driving permits quickly and conveniently.
Getting a learner driving permit in Islamabad has become easier than ever as the Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) launches mobile facilitation vans across key checkpoints in the city. This initiative comes under the directives of Inspector General (IG) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, aiming to simplify the licensing process for residents.
Mobile Facilitation Vans at Key Checkpoints
Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Captain (R) Hamza Humayun announced that citizens can now obtain learner permits directly from mobile vans stationed at strategic locations. The vans are currently operational at:
-
Zero Point
-
Faizabad
-
G-14
-
Foreign Office checkpoints
Equipped to issue permits on the spot, these vans reduce the need for citizens to visit traffic offices, saving time and making the process more convenient and efficient.
Simplifying Licensing for New Drivers
The initiative primarily targets drivers who do not yet hold a valid license. Traffic officers deployed at these checkpoints are actively checking licenses. Individuals found without a driving license or learner permit are issued a permit immediately through the facilitation vans.
“This initiative reflects our commitment to making public services more accessible and efficient for citizens,” said the CTO.
“Our goal is to reduce unlicensed driving on city roads and make the licensing process as convenient as possible,” added an ITP spokesperson.
This step encourages compliance with traffic regulations and ensures that new drivers can begin the legal learning process without unnecessary delays.
Part of a Broader Road Safety Campaign
Officials confirmed that this measure is part of the ITP’s larger campaign to enhance road safety in Islamabad. By providing easier access to learner permits, the department aims to ensure that all drivers are properly licensed before operating vehicles on city roads.
Benefits and Public Guidance
-
Convenience: Citizens can obtain permits at their nearest mobile van without visiting traffic offices.
-
Safety: Reduces the risk of unlicensed driving, helping prevent road accidents.
-
Efficiency: Quick processing and on-the-spot issuance saves time.
The ITP encourages all Islamabad residents to take advantage of this facility and comply with licensing regulations, promoting safer driving practices throughout the capital.
“Thousands of new drivers are expected to benefit from this facility in the coming months,” officials said.
Citizens can visit any of the designated mobile van checkpoints to apply for their learner driving permit and ensure safe and legal driving in Islamabad.
