Maryam Nawaz Announces Electric Bus Service for Raiwind Congregation
CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz announces a 3-day electric bus service from Lahore to Raiwind for Tablighi congregation, ensuring comfort, safety, and eco-friendly travel.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has announced a three-day electric bus service to facilitate participants attending the upcoming Raiwind religious congregation.
The announcement came during a meeting with members of the Tablighi Jamaat’s central consultative council on Monday. The new service aims to provide a smooth and environment-friendly travel experience for thousands of devotees expected to arrive in Raiwind.
Eco-Friendly Transport for Pilgrims
The Chief Minister stated that the electric buses will operate from Lahore railway station and Allama Iqbal International Airport directly to Raiwind, ensuring easy accessibility for both local and international visitors.
Maryam Nawaz emphasized that the initiative reflects her government’s vision of sustainable public transport and public welfare. The electric buses will operate throughout the congregation period, providing consistent, reliable service.
CM Orders Full Preparations for the Event
Maryam Nawaz directed the provincial administration to ensure top-notch arrangements. She instructed key officials including the Deputy Commissioner, CCPO, DIG, and CTO to personally oversee the preparations.
In addition, the Chief Minister ordered road repairs and patchwork on all major routes leading to Raiwind. Three major roads in the area are also being reconstructed to improve accessibility.
Cleanliness and Public Comfort Measures
As part of the event preparations, a special cleanliness drive will be launched on November 1, featuring sanitation work and rosewater spraying along key routes.
The Tablighi Jamaat delegation appreciated the electric bus initiative and commended the CM’s focus on public convenience projects, including the ongoing construction of 90,000 low-cost homes across Punjab.

Speaking at the meeting, Maryam Nawaz said that serving the people is an act of worship for her. She also requested prayers for Pakistan’s peace, prosperity, and for flood-affected communities across the country.
The electric bus project not only eases travel for religious participants but also marks another step toward greener urban mobility in Punjab.
