Petrol Price in Pakistan Likely to Drop by Rs6.10 From October 16, 2025
Petrol prices in Pakistan may fall by Rs6.10 per litre and diesel by Rs1 from October 16, 2025, as OGRA prepares to send new rates to the Finance Ministry for approval.

Motorists across Pakistan may soon get long-awaited relief at the fuel pumps as petroleum prices are expected to decline from October 16, 2025, following the latest review by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).
According to initial estimates from the oil industry, petrol prices are likely to be reduced by Rs6.10 per litre, while high-speed diesel may see a smaller cut of Rs1 per litre. The proposed revisions have already been shared with OGRA for assessment.
Once reviewed, OGRA will forward its recommendations to the Ministry of Finance, which will make the final decision and announce the revised fuel prices later this week. If approved, the new rates will officially take effect from October 16.
Industry insiders revealed that the adjustment comes in response to declining global oil prices, which have slightly eased pressure on Pakistan’s domestic market. However, they cautioned that any increase in petroleum levy or sales tax could offset part of the expected relief.
Expected Price Reductions
-
Petrol (Super): Down by Rs6.10 per litre
-
High-Speed Diesel (HSD): Down by Rs1.00 per litre
-
Kerosene Oil: Down by Rs2.75 per litre
-
Light Diesel Oil (LDO): Down by Rs1.64 per litre
If these changes are approved, consumers will see a noticeable difference at the pumps, particularly those who rely on petrol for daily commutes.
As of October 1, 2025, the current fuel prices in Pakistan stand as follows:
-
Petrol (Super): Rs268.68 per litre
-
High-Speed Diesel: Rs276.81 per litre
The Ministry of Finance is expected to release an official notification once the summary is approved. Until then, citizens can monitor updates through OGRA’s website or use digital tools such as the Shell Station Locator to find the nearest fuel stations and latest rates.
If confirmed, this will mark one of the few fuel price reductions in recent months — a welcome change for consumers grappling with rising transportation and living costs.
