What does PCB need to do to fix Pakistan cricket?
The biggest challenge for Pakistan cricket has been the lack of consistency. As Former English Captain and test cricketer Naser Hussain once commented.“One min down next min up, Pakistan cricket at its best” Cricket is not just a game it cannot be played based on talent only. With talent, you can win games but for us to win major events, we need strategy and dedication.

“One min down next min up, Pakistan cricket at its best”
Cricket is not just a game it cannot be played based on talent only. With talent, you can win games but for us to win major events, we need strategy and dedication.
What is Pakistan’s biggest challenge?
Many people believe that the issue started with PSL. Since the start of PSL Pakistan cricket standard has gone down. While it does not mean that we should discontinue PSL. However, PSL performance should be one of the criteria to grab new talent.
It is becoming a prevailing concept in the new talent that if you score good runs or take a few wickets in PSL, you can be a part of the Pakistan National cricket team for Test, ODI & T20 all at once. Experts are suggesting that if a player is selected from PSL for Pakistan national cricket then he should only play T20 cricket for Pakistan first to prove his worth
Pakistan cricket needs more all-rounders like Abdul Razaak and Specialist spinners like Saeed Ajmal. These were the superstars Pakistan was known for.
Possible Solution:
A possible solution to this problem could be for the PCB to create a 4 member panel to analyze and select the best players from domestic cricket matches. They should create a pool of talented and skilled players for each position like openers, one down players, and two down players from all provinces. This selection should be strictly merit-based so we only select the best talent possible.
Instead of directly selecting these players for National Cricket, these players should go through at least 1 month of training on game awareness, and fitness and polish their skills as well as work through weaknesses. After extensive training, these players should be sent back to domestic cricket for further evaluation. This time, these players will be judged based on the training provided and only the best performers will be selected from this pool. This will not only strengthen our international game but also provide a path to domestic cricketers and more and more players will get the necessary training and education. This way we can have a bunch of new players along with more players in the backup.
Pakistanis are a cricket lovers nation and it's painful to watch our team lose match 1 after another. It's time we take serious measures to counter our issues and work on getting back into the game.
