CM Maryam Nawaz Launced 'Murree Development Project'
The Punjab administration, led by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, has initiated a Rs4.5 billion Murree Development Project

As stated by Walled City of Lahore Authority DG Kamran Lashari, the project seeks to upgrade Murree's infrastructure while balancing modernization with heritage conservation. The initiative, under the direct supervision of the Chief Minister, is anticipated to be completed in 18 months.
The development plan entails reviving stores and structures near significant sites like Mall Road and GPO, preserving their historical appeal while incorporating modern amenities. An exciting new feature is the launch of a glass train, aimed at enhancing the tourist experience by offering stunning views of Murree's picturesque scenery. The Punjab government is committed to ensuring that the improvements not only enhance visual appeal but also increase accessibility and comfort for visitors.
In addition to infrastructure, this initiative aims to boost tourism, generate employment, and promote economic development, ultimately supporting local enterprises and the hospitality industry. The Walled City of Lahore Authority is focusing on heritage restoration throughout Punjab, encompassing important shrines, gurdwaras, and churches. Furthermore, to enhance cultural awareness, students in schools and colleges in Lahore will soon have the opportunity to participate in low-cost, guided tours of Sufi shrines such as Data Darbar. This groundbreaking initiative showcases CM Maryam Nawaz's commitment to sustainable growth while safeguarding Pakistan's vibrant cultural heritage.
