NAB Achieves Historic Recovery of Rs 6.213 Trillion in 2025

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has achieved an unprecedented milestone, reclaiming Rs 6.213 trillion in 2025 the highest recovery in the institution’s history. The record was formally presented to Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif by NAB Chairman Lt. Gen. (retd) Nazir Ahmed, highlighting a transformative approach to national accountability.

The bureau attributed this landmark success to the integration of AI-assisted investigations and a digitally streamlined e-office system, which significantly enhanced operational efficiency and reinforced the government’s goals of austerity, transparency, and effective governance.

Nearly 2.98 million acres of state and forest land, valued at Rs 5.99 trillion, were reclaimed, while Rs 180 billion was directly disbursed to 115,587 victims of fraudulent housing and investment schemes.
