Pakistani Exporters Secure $3 Billion Orders at Heimtextil Trade Fair

Pakistani exporters achieved a significant milestone by securing $3 billion in export orders at Heimtextil, the world’s largest textile trade fair in Frankfurt, Germany. This achievement is expected to substantially boost the country’s textile industry, especially in Faisalabad. Imran Mehmood, the central chairman of APBUMA, emphasized the importance of this success and highlighted the government’s goal to increase exports from $30 billion to $100 billion within five years. However, he called for urgent measures to address challenges like rising electricity, gas, and yarn costs, which are affecting global competitiveness. Mehmood proposed low-interest loans for SMEs to further support the sector, urging collaboration between the State Bank of Pakistan and APBUMA to ensure transparency. These efforts, he noted, would drive production, generate jobs, and strengthen the textile industry's role in the economy.
