Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • A pinch of salt
  • Optional toppings: maple syrup, butter, fresh fruit, or whipped cream.

Directions

  • Mix the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt in a bowl.
  • Beat the egg, milk, and melted butter together in a separate bowl.
  • The batter should be somewhat lumpy when the wet components are added to the dry ingredients and stirred just until incorporated.
  • Lightly lubricate a non-stick pan or griddle and heat it over medium heat.
  • For each pancake, add 1/4 cup of batter to the pan and cook until bubbles appear on the top.  
  • Cook after flipping until both sides are golden brown. 
  • Top with your preferred toppings and serve warm.
