The Ministry of Religious Affairs has made it mandatory for all Hajj pilgrims to get the following vaccinations:

  • Meningitis (ACWY135): Compulsory for entry into Saudi Arabia.

  • Seasonal Influenza Vaccine: Highly recommended to avoid flu outbreaks during Hajj.

  • COVID-19 Vaccination: Pilgrims must be fully vaccinated with WHO-approved vaccines.

Important:

  • Vaccination certificates must be obtained and carried along during travel.

  • Health cards provided after vaccination are to be kept safe throughout the journey.

The government has announced the following travel protocols:

  • Direct Flights: Special Hajj flights have been arranged from major cities like Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta, and Multan.

  • Flight Schedule Updates: Pilgrims will receive updates through SMS and emails.

  • Accommodation:

    • Makkah: Lodging will be near Haram Shareef, wherever possible.

    • Madinah: Accommodation will be within 1,000 meters of Masjid-e-Nabwi.

Before departing, ensure you have the following:

  • Original passport with a Hajj visa

  • CNIC (Computerized National Identity Card)

  • Vaccination certificate (COVID-19, Meningitis, Influenza)

  • Hajj training certificate

  • Airline tickets

  • Accommodation receipts and information

  • Emergency contact numbers

Given the crowded nature of the Hajj, maintaining personal hygiene is crucial:

  • Wash your hands frequently with soap and sanitizer.

  • Wear face masks in crowded areas.

  • Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated in the Saudi heat.

  • Avoid consuming open food from roadside stalls.

  • Dispose of waste properly and maintain cleanliness at all times.

Pilgrims with chronic illnesses (like diabetes, heart disease) must carry their medicines and health history documents.

                       

Managing your finances properly during Hajj is crucial. Here’s how:

  • Carry limited cash; use bank cards or traveler's cheques where possible.

  • Exchange currency only from authorized dealers.

  • Never share your financial details or bank cards with strangers.

  • Keep money and valuables securely locked in your hotel safe or on your person.

Helpful Tip:
Use a money belt under your clothing to keep cash and cards secure.

In case of emergencies:

  • Memorize the location of your hotel and the group leader’s contact.

  • Carry a small card with the hotel address and emergency numbers written in both Arabic and English.

  • In case of health emergencies, head straight to the designated Hajj Medical Centers.

  • Pakistani Hajj Mission offices in Makkah and Madinah are available 24/7 for assistance.

Women pilgrims must observe the following:

  • Travel with a Mahram (male guardian) unless exempted as per the Saudi policy.

  • Wear modest and appropriate clothing.

  • Carry sufficient personal hygiene items like sanitizers, wipes, and sanitary products.

  • Attend separate training sessions specially organized for female pilgrims.
