The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is set to convene in Peshawar on February 28 to observe the Ramadan moon, determining the official start of the holy month. Led by Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad, the meeting will take place after Asr prayer, with zonal committees also providing their reports. Islamic scholars from different sects will participate to ensure a unified decision. While fasting could begin on March 1 if the moon is sighted, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicts that the crescent may not be visible until March 1, making March 2 the likely start of Ramadan. The new moon is expected to be born at 5:45 pm on February 28, adding to the anticipation surrounding the announcement.
