Toyota Invests $10 Billion to Build a City in Japan
Toyota is set to unveil its $10 billion smart city, Woven City, at the foot of Mount Fuji in Japan.
Scheduled to welcome its first 100 residents in fall 2025 primarily Toyota employees and their families this 175-acre urban innovation hub will focus on testing advanced technologies such as robotics, self-driving cars, and AI-powered smart homes.
Designed by acclaimed architect Bjarke Ingels, Woven City will eventually accommodate up to 2,000 “weavers” and include cutting-edge features like pet robots for the elderly and personal drones for joggers.
