Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan refused to accept interest in his investment in filmmaker Renu Chopra’s production of Ittefaq (2017), calling it “haraam” (forbidden). Chopra, wife of the late director Ravi Chopra, shared in an interview that Khan generously financed her son Abhay Chopra’s debut film despite her financial struggles. Without even reading the script, he agreed to invest, saying, “If your son is backing it, I’ll back it.” After the film’s success, grossing ₹51.47 crore worldwide, Khan declined any interest in his investment, reaffirming his ethical beliefs.
